What are Phoenix Ranking Points?

Phoenix Ranking Points is not just a ranking. It is the story of a season.

It is about the athlete who starts the year with a young horse at 1.00 m and, competition by competition, progresses to 1.20 m or higher.

It is about the invisible work between competitions.

Phoenix Ranking Points (PRP) is an internal loyalty and bonus point tracking system, awarded to athletes for each horse, at each competition organized by Jumping Baicoi, within the annual calendar of national and international competitions.

It is a real tool for measuring individual sporting progress and is open to all athletes, regardless of nationality.

WHY PHOENIX RIDERS RANKING EXISTS (PRRP)

For a long time, only the podium mattered. Phoenix Ranking Points aims to change this perspective.

Here, what matters is:

• every start;

• every correctly ridden round;

• every step forward;

PRP validates progress, not just the result of a single day.

Phoenix Ranking Points creates a continuous motivation mechanism:

DREAMS – EMOTION – AMBITION – PERFORMANCE

HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS

• Points are accumulated per athlete;

• An athlete may score points with a maximum of 3 horses per competition;

• Points are awarded for each horse, regardless of the total number of horses entered;

• Only Top 10 placings are scored;

• Every start counts;

• Progression from lower to higher classes is directly reflected in the scoring

THE RULE THAT PROVIDES CLARITY

Horse nomination must be made before the competition, at the time of entry, with the athlete designating a maximum of 3 horses eligible for PRRP points.

If the athlete fails to make this nomination, the system applies a simple and transparent rule:

The first 3 horses entered, in the order shown on the entry platform, will be scored automatically.

This rule ensures fairness, fair play, and supports investments in horses and equipment.

Any fourth or additional horse does not score PRP points, regardless of results.

This rule is final, mandatory, and non-contestable, applied uniformly to all athletes, ensuring:

• transparency;

• fairness and fair play;

• predictability in the Phoenix Ranking Points and Next Star rankings;

THE POINT SYSTEM

This system is fair, intuitive, and easy to interpret.

Points are awarded per class, according to the official Phoenix Ranking Points table, based on class height and final placing.

Only placings from 1st to 10th generate points.

Athletes eligible for Next Star PRP score under the same system, accumulating points simultaneously in both rankings.

This article is final, mandatory, and non-contestable.

International Participation

International competitions represent more than results.

They represent courage, determination, performance, recognition, exposure, and growth.

The following bonus points (multiplied with coefifficient) are earned:

NEXT STAR – WHERE THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Next Star Phoenix Riders Ranking Points is dedicated to athletes who:

• are aged 10 to 18 (turning 18 in the current competition year;

• compete at 80–90 cm and 100–105 cm levels;

Eligible athletes score simultaneously in:

• Next Star ranking;

• the general Phoenix Ranking Points ranking;

PRIZES THAT GIVE MEANING TO THE SEASON FINALE

Prize funds may be adjusted and expanded depending on sponsor and partner involvement, without altering the rules—only increasing the final stakes.

The awards ceremony takes place at the end of the season during the CSI 4* international competition, in a dedicated festive event - The Gala of the Best Athletes of the Year.
